Tangy Kale Chips

So, I love kale too much and have seen the raves about kale chips too much in the blogosphere recently to not try these crunchy nuggets of goodness. As always, I looked at a bunch of different recipes and created my own synthesis. This is what I made this morning:

Tangy Kale Chips

Kale:

  • 1 bunch organic green kale
  • 1 bunch organic Red Bor Kale

Seasonings:

  • 2 tbsp crushed Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup Braggs Amino Acids
  • 4 tbsp Nutritional yeast
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil

Tear away the kale leaves from the large stems, dry them, add all the ingredients in a large Ziploc bag and massage the seasoning mixture into the leaves through the Ziploc. Then, remove the leaves and arrange on an oven sheet sprayed with Pam. Bake for one hour at 200 degrees.  Result: tasty, tangy, healthy treats! Makes about 3-4 servings.

Oh yum. I’ve only tried the very basic EVOO with sea salt. Kind of burned the edges but still good. Need to try this one!

Love kale chips! Though, I also haven’t tried it with this kind of mixture. I’ve done
the olive oil salt route, and also have given them a bit of a kick with cayenne.

    Also, miss you!
