Motivation Through Breaking Records

Okay, so someone who I think is really smart once said to garner motivation from ***anywhere***– doesn’t matter from where. So recently I have been inspired to seek my 1RM in a few different exercises in order to break the records at Rise Above Performance. It’s a small gym in Belmont that focuses on performance enhancement. The adult female bracket is filled with high scores but I seek to break a few. Weighted pull ups (1RM), bench press (1RM), and deadlift (1RM).

Today I was doing back and so I practiced some weighted pull ups and did some rack pulls and some deadlifts. I was really happy that I did multiple reps of rack pulls at 225 lbs, and I did a deadlift at 205. Yay! I’m hoping that with a little bit of training I can break that 265 deadlift record?! Maybe I’m dreaming, as I’ve never really trained for 1RM before, so perhaps I’m overly optimistic about how fast progress comes with 1RM, but hey– garner your motivation from somewhere, right, and go for it!!!
