Macadamia Nut Oil is the Bomb

So I want to talk with you guys about one of my obsessions: Macadamia nut oil. I LUVVVVV with this stuff! Why?

macadamia-nut-oil

First of all, it is SOOOO YUMMY! Get in mah belly nom nom nom stop me from guzzling it in mah mouth and pouring it on mah dancing nekked body nomnomnommmmm :::weird ferret or gopher sounds:::

Use it in place of olive oil or coconut oil in your cooking. It has a light, nutty and buttery flavor. Try it to cook eggs, roast meats or veggies, making salad dressings, and even on kale chips! If you have coconut-oiled yourself to death, this is the perfect option to try to mix things up a bit.

And you want healthy? Macadamia oil is one of the most heart-healthy oils on the market. It is packed with both Omega-3 and Omega-6 oils, in addition to vitamin E, oleic, linoleic, and palmitoleic acids. This oil will lower LDL cholesterol, and maintain your HDL cholesterol, all of which will help reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke. Another great bonus is that the oleic acid has anti-inflammatory properties that can help people with chronic health issues. Also, macadamia nut oil has zero trans fats.

Another benefit is the higher smoke point. Macadamia nut oil typically has a smoke point about 40 degrees higher than olive oil. This means you can cook at higher temperatures with it. Yeah, baby. (said in Austin Powers voice)

But there is more! This oil is great not only for cooking, but for your skin and hair as well. It’s a great moisturizer, yes. It’s packed with anti-oxidants and essential fatty acids to protect your skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. You can also use it to help heal after a sunburn. This oil mimics your skin’s natural oils, so it makes perfect sense to choose this over other moisturizers (with artificial ingredients). And for your hair? This stuff is great. It is absorbed into your scalp, and will prevent breakage and improve the strength and elasticity of your hair. It’s also great for eliminating frizz, such as in my crazy curly hair.

Ready to go out and buy some? Look for cold-pressed organic macadamia oil at your local health food store, or online. Hair and skin products containing quality oils can be found at better natural spas and salons.

Enjoy!
