Animal Workout!!

Animal exercises are AMAZING!

They are a type of functional bodyweight training that mimics animal movements to:

  • improve intramuscular coordination
  • enhance core strength
  • enhance shoulder/chest strength
  • increase cardiovascular endurance
  • increase your magnitude of bad-add-ness (Let me know if there is a better word to use. Thanks.)

These exercise will totally get you shredded (in conjunction with a very clean diet, of course). These exercises are also great because they are machine-less and therefore you can do them anytime, anyplace, and can be adjusted to fit different skill levels. This circuit can be done once, twice, three times, or more! It can be a workout itself, or be integrated with other resistance training exercises or cardio intervals.

  • Crawling
  • Lateral plank walk
  • backwards crawl
  • crab walk
  • duck walk
  • gorilla hop

    What a neat idea!! I can’t imagine the looks I’d get at the gym crawling around though! LOL. But who cares.. especially if I’d be ripped!!

      April- who cares what they think! I would love to have some people sitting “working out” on the seated tricep extension machine or other contraption, and have their minds FRY with these exercises. Sweating, total body movement, no machines, WHAT?! I am so sorry if they can’t use the best machine- their body.

    These exercises would be really fun to do at a park with a friend- that would mitigate the embarrassment a bit. And I imagine, you could even do them with kids playing around you, or better yet, following your fitness example!
