Spaghetti (Squash) and Homemade Turkey Meatballs

Okay, I have been delinquent, this I know. Time always seems to escape me. I put on my agenda 50 million things to do, and end up completing…one thing. One great thing I did today was make spaghetti and meatballs. Okay, it was squash and extra lean turkey. Same thing (oh yes, the mind games we play). When I set myself up with healthy foods around, I set myself up for success. This recipe is a total keeper for ...

Even Dogs Need Exercise

Haha! I am just learning iMovie, so I decided to try out some techniques on a video with our beloved pit, LUKE!! Yes, Omar puts Luke on the treadmill because he needs exercise! He has a lot of energy he needs to let out, because we don’t want our house torn apart! 😉 Isn’t Luke adorable?? Maybe I am a bit biased because I’m the mommy but I don’t ...

Best Practices in Fat Loss

Endless waves upon waves of good-intentioned fat-loss seekers tie up their running shoes and walk around their neighborhoods, flock to the gym and trod on their cardio equipment of choice, only eat twice a day, and never get their heart rate above their “fat burning zone.” Yet their jeans remain too snug, the zipper gets harder to close, and women and men grow steadily frustrated with how infrequently they eat, how much cardio they do in their low-heart-rate, “fat burning ...

1 tsp light yacon syrup

½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond breeze (almond milk)

30 g chia seeds

PB & Graham Cracker Protein Cottage Cheese

grahamcrackerproteincottagecheese

(Ah, and there’s our doggy LUKE!! making his debut…)

This concoction is RIDICULOUSly good.

Just mix:

1/3 cup 1% fat cottage cheese (no salt added)

1 scoop VPX zero carb graham cracker protein powder (you can buy this here)

1 tbsp All Natural Barney Butter (crunchy) Almond Butter

And it totally tastes like graham cracker. That protein powder is not very good in shakes, ...

Cauliflower “Mashed Potatoes”

Steam 1 head cauliflower

cauliflower

Put steamed cauliflower in blender or food processor, and blend with:

1/3 cup FAGE 0% yogurt

1/3 cup egg whites

about 1 cup water.

I added dried chives, garlic powder, and black pepper.

It tastes like mashed potatoes! But it is nothing but cauliflower. Ah, I love the deception. The container below shows the finished product (I stored it in one big ...

Exotic Chicken Breast to Heal

My shoulder has been hurting…a bit inflammed. I saw the chiropractor at work, and she says it may be bicep tendonitis…grr..(I know something has been wrong, but didn’t know what…)…so I may rest it some more 🙁 I hate rest! Anyway, I decided it was time to make some “anti-inflammatory” chicken. I seasoned the chicken breast with herbs that decrease inflammation, such as:

Cayenne
Tumeric
Ginger
Cumin

And threw the chicken breasts on the George Foreman grill (dang, I love that thing). ...

Mannnn does cooking take a lot of time!! Where has my morning gone?
