4 month update: jiu jitsu, dancing, exploring, learning, tacos…

HOLY FUCK IT’S BEEN OVER 4 MONTHS SINCE I’VE UPDATED MY BLOG

I’m sorry, I am a baddd person

I still feel very excited to be travelling, and I still feel excited to continue. So here I am! Sitting in a coffeeshop in Medellin (well…actually it’s a printing shop with a tiny table, but close enough), with the intention to relay some of the experiences I’ve had these past few months.

I have some random “journal” entries that I have kept, so I ...

I suck ass but what else is new? #whitebeltproblems

RFT brazil, "working defense"Today in the morning I took the Pro Luta Livre class. I considered NOT taking that class, because I feel I am not at the appropriate level for the class, but I took a look at the schedule and nothing else in the morning really looked enticing, so I just decided to stick it out a few more days til I ...

**San Diego to Costa Rica to Brazil***

Lovelies! Let me catch you up on what tha dilly.

After some existential crisis, I decided to do some travelling. Nothing like a good ole fashioned existential crisis to shake things up. I sold my car, gave up my housing, put my clients under the care of other trainers, put my stuff in storage, and disconnected my phone to save money while abroad. I drove down to San Diego to be with my family for the holidays and get things in ...

Wed Ass Beat, Fri Grappling Champion, & Excitement List

This past week has been surprising! It felt sooo long, but I didn’t even work out on Monday!

Monday= sick (food poisoning)

Tuesday= I took Muay Thai (among other things) and that messed me up for the week. I think I pulled my right calf muscle and I was limping all week. I kept on going and going, though, and yesterday I could barely walk! 🙁 Tuesday night I hardly slept.

Wednesday= I was dead tired. In ...

I Made It To The Finals!

Training = Fun Times

The past couple days have been great, just focusing on training. This past Monday through Friday this was generally my schedule:

9-12 jiu jitsu (3 hours)

grab a protein shake, shower, then

1-2 Muay Thai (1 hour)

then chill the rest of the day.

I am still figuring out if this works best for me.

I Made It To the Finals in the Grappling Tournament!!!!

Yesterday was an interesting day!! Mixed high and lows, mostly highs 🙂 In the morning, ...

Smashed in Class But It's a Great Day!

Ahh, good day so far.

In the morning MMA class, we did…um..I don’t know. I kind of forget. In one eye and out the other, right? In rolling at the end of class, I basically got crushed again and again by the guys. Which sucked. But I am okay with that, as I said, because I know it’s part of the learning process, especially when these guys are big and strong and I have to have solid technique to be able ...

Same but Different

Day #3 @ Tiger Muay Thai & MMA

Today was another great day 🙂 After the vigor of the past two days, I prolly cut my exercise in half today. In the morning, I had a private session with a Muay Thai trainer who killed me with cardio. I haven’t been pushed that hard since…I don’t know how long it’s been. Fun times!

Then after that, I had to walk around the corner to the weight room, because I have not lifted in ages and wanted to touch the ...
